Now that the shock has settled, the renewal of massive disappointment in the common mindset of American fools has returned in full force.

We were really hoping, and had again convinced ourselves, that the reality of electing a horrid example of a human being would not happen again.

It’s not the policies we’re against as much as just the audacity to put an unethical, moronic, criminal in power again. And to top it off, he is not being held accountable for past or future crimes because he corrupted the Supreme Court. This is one of many reasons he is often compared to Hitler.

It reminds me of a scene from the miniseries, Merlin, in which the corrupted student of the evil witch, Queen Mab, accuses the King of having one set of laws for the people and another for the King.

Another memorable scene was when Queen Mab and the age of Witchcraft was deemed obsolete. It was decided, by Merlin, that the only way to be rid of her evil was to turn away and simply forget her existence. In the film, it worked. She dissolved into the air. We were really hoping that might happen with Trump as well.

But the news kept him very alive. He was constantly being shown in Court, trying to slither away from indictments and projecting nonsense soundbytes for the self righteous cult to devour.

So what do the non-trump believers do now?

We hide from the political rhetoric, avoid the daily news cycles, ignore our own instincts and buckle up for the ride. We don’t say, we told you so, when he picks criminals, rapists, corporate vultures, and corrupted lawyers for his cabinet. We hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

We continue our lives with the weight of sadness on our backs. We wince at the overwhelming evidence that our children are going to most likely have to adapt and normalize living in a very near future fascist America.

We walk in shame and defeat knowing that once again, hatred and ignorance has begun its reign of power and control in this world.

We realize that we, again, underestimated the average intelligence of our population and that being smart holds no allegiance compared to the triggering of caveman era emotions. Television has actually rotted the brains of Americans. Ironically, not excluding the very generation that warned us that it would.

We decide to keep our guns. Not to succumb to the feverish rants over the 2nd Amendment, but simply to protect ourselves from a highly possible Civil War.

It wouldn’t take much to light that fire. Trump instructed his followers to “Stand back and stand by”. Remember that? There’s no doubt they’re still locked and loaded, ready to murder on command.

There are crazy ass neighbors who are addicted to the Right and love conspiracy theories. It’s their whole identity. They are misguided and dangerous. Remember Alex Jones? We should also remember that Trump supported Alex Jones in deciding that the murders of 6 year old children and teachers in Sandy Hook Elementary School was an elaborate acting stunt to enable the government to take away guns.

It seems like America forgot about all that crazy shit that Trump said and did. The media failed to constantly remind us. The right wing tactic of continuously spewing disinformation was never utilized the way it was by Republicans. I suppose It was too much like blasting propaganda inside a detournment camp.

But maybe the message from the Left wasn’t exciting enough. Not negative enough. We all enjoy a good car crash every now and then. Hey, let’s put that out of control vehicle back in the White House and watch what happens again! That last guy was so boring we had to make up a bad economy and say that the Mexican border was wide open and the Democrats were just letting everybody into America.

The brain washing of America has been going on a very long time. We thought we all knew it was bullshit, but clearly, that’s not the case.

It’s funny that calling people ‘sheep’ is derogatory when every religious leader has a flock. The hypocrisy is endless.

We’ve learned that anything can be normalized, or justified, or sanctioned. All it takes is a charismatic personality to flush out and lead the herd. And again, we all thought we knew this already and had evolved above it, but no, we have not.

The lessons of history have been ignored and this is again, another beginning to a historical price to pay.

So now we hold on to each other. Focus on the positive things in life. Lift each other up and hold steady. Keep working, quietly.

Do not draw attention to the good we do, for they will come to destroy it.
